Here are few poems I've written. The first two are from a while ago, and the last one is more recent.
Linguistics
Recapitulation, an unearthing
Of my sound appreciation
For the murmurings of words
And their tooth-stains in my
Aging mouth that crack
Along the fault lines of the
Self-inflicted tragedies
That emulsify the flavors
And the poignant savory
Seeds of the antediluvian
Attempt at growing the
Trees of life-blood
And the names that spilled
From Adam’s tongue
Fleshy whitish grubs of
Intricate insignificance
Otherwise apprised
As token talents of
Human existentialism
Or simply footprints
Baptized by the tide
Effaced in an ephemeral
Instant, yet inexplicably
Permanent fossils
Etched in consciousness
Transcendentalists
Of Time and Space
Instrument of late-night
Discourse over tea
And stale bread
The chemical elements
Of our communion
Traveling photons of
Solar radiation
Created to give life
But burning the skin
Nevertheless
Amor
Para vencer la soledad
Imagino que tú estés aquí
La idea me llena con felicidad
Aunque tú estás lejos de mí
Mi corazón era una isla
Y tú eres la primera persona
Quien habló con las animales allá
Y no sintió como un extranjero
Y tus manos con los míos
Caminando juntos sin hablar
Y solamente tus ojos
Me cuentan una historia
Imagino que tú estés aquí
La idea me llena con felicidad
Aunque tú estás lejos de mí
Mi corazón era una isla
Y tú eres la primera persona
Quien habló con las animales allá
Y no sintió como un extranjero
Y tus manos con los míos
Caminando juntos sin hablar
Y solamente tus ojos
Me cuentan una historia
Spontaneous Combustion
There are many ways to burn:
A flash of lighting
Then I'm gone in a thunderclap
A sort of synaptic collapse
A metaphorical cardiac attack
A cut to black
Or an infinitesimal ebbing of life
The tinder that smolders too slowly
Dampened, never quite ignites
Just flickers once or twice
Then snuffs out with the night
Or maybe an extinguishing
All the fuel gone, nowhere to turn
Only crumbling up the flaxen twine
On a thousand camels' snapping spines
A timely design
Will it hurt, I wonder
When the smoke fills my lungs
Releasing carbon residue inside
Who will be there
To clean up the ashes
